we are redeemed

Yesterday something from my past that I’m not proud of was brought back to the forefront of my mind. It was painful and disconcerting, it shook me up for a few hours, but after a while a calming reminder found its way into my heart

I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not power or height or depth, or any other thing that is created.”

Romans 8.38-39

No matter what we do wrong, no matter how often we fail God still loves us. God still redeems us.

That doesn’t excuse our mistakes. We can’t go around spreading brokenness just because God has redeemed us. But God’s redemption reminds us that even though we make mistakes and even though we are broken and cause brokenness there is still hope. Because of this redemption we are motivated to turn from our brokenness and start living for God’s kingdom.

God can still use us even after we make mistakes and use us even in our most broken of states.

Be reminded of that on this Friday and let it give you freedom.

No matter what you’ve done, or how far you’ve fallen God has redeemed you and is working in you.

Do you have things from your past that hold you back?
